Description

20 minutes from Bordeaux, the 4th largest city in France, just 2 and a half hours from Paris, 40 minutes from Bordeaux Mérignac international airport, and 5 minutes’ walk from Libourne town centre, in the heart of a 150 hectare protected nature site, come and row in an Olympic-sized nautical stadium that is fully accessible to people with disabilities (8 rowing 2,000 metre lanes / 9 canoe-kayak 1,000 metre lanes). With exceptional navigation conditions, the 40-hectare artificial lake complies with regulatory requirements for the organisation of international competitions: permanent and regular water level, depth of 6m, gently sloping banks to prevent the return of waves. Surrounded by a wooded area to provide wind protection, it has 4 private embarking / disembarking pontoons, Albano buoy system and distance markers every 250 metres. A road along the whole course allows trainers to follow athletes by bike. A fixed departure pontoon is available for rowing. A finish tower is available for technicians. Bikes and catamarans available on request. With exterior car parks for vehicles and trailers, this nautical centre also has spacious enclosed, secure (alarm) boat houses, a repairs workshop, changing rooms and toilet facilities, a physical preparation room, a medical room and a meeting space. https://www.libourne.fr/utile/sports-et-loisirs/pole-nautique-des-dagueys

Several French championships are held at the centre each year. International competitions have been held at the centre, such as annual regattas and the rowing “Coupe de la jeunesse”.
