Description

Angers, chosen as the number 1 best city  to live in (Express, 2019), and recognised as the top green city in France since 2014, is located 1hr 20 minutes away from Paris Montparnasse station by train:  https://www.angers-connectezvous.fr/ Thanks to its many parks and green spaces; the river Maine which flows through the city; the neighbouring Loire river and its high quality infrastructures; Angers is the ideal city for practicing sports and hosting large-scale sporting events. La Baumette centre court, a multi-discipline centre, is located right by the city centre, tourist sites and Angers Saint-Laud train station (10mins by foot). La Baumette centre court is a unique centre with 6000m² of indoor space, 3500m² of outdoor sporting space on a 17000m² plot. The tennis hall, inaugurated in the autumn of 2017, is one of the best facilities using this type of surface. The facility includes: seven indoor tennis courts of which five are clay and two synthetic; four illuminated outdoor pitches in unfrozen clay, four padel courts and a covered striking wall. Finally there are changing rooms, equipment rooms and a private clubhouse to complete the facilities. Thought out and designed in close consultation with Angevin clubs, the Fédération française de Tennis (French tennis federation), la Ligue régionale (regional league) et le Comité départemental (French departmental committee); this facility has been very beneficial to Angers tennis club in terms of organising an international event, and was  awarded the "Club Roland-Garros" label in 2018, rewarding the 100 most beautiful historical clay courts clubs in France,: http://www.angerstennisclub.fr/ Able to welcome a coach in the grounds, with several vehicle accesses also possible.

Special features

The facility is home to ‘La Belle Équipe’ restaurant, open Monday to Friday 9am-11pm and Saturday 9am-3pm. The restaurant has a seating capacity of 80 people and is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

The centre court is the gateway to La Baumette Sports Park, where you will find many facilities such as:

• four outdoor tennis courts
• a multi sports pitch with a 200-metre athletics track,
• training centre for Angers SCO football team (Ligue 1)
• rugby pitches
• a 400m round track for athletics and rollerblading
• boules pitch
• skate park

ITF Open Galerie Espace Anjou : every year La Baumette centre court hosts competitions at a departmental, regional, national and international level such as 20^th edition of the international men’s tennis tournament (2019).
