Description

Based at 9km from Paris, the Bas Coquarts sports complex is intended to be a place of sporting excellence dedicated to high level. This complex, which is located near two schools, is a structuring pole for the city of Bourg-la-Reine and its 20,000 residents. Today it is split in three entities: the Bas-Coquarts gymnasium, the sports hall and the weapons room. An essential place for sports practice, it now includes several multi-sport activities such as fencing, martial arts (judo, karate, taekwondo, nanbudo, etc.), basketball or shooting. A partial rehabilitation of the gymnasium is in progress, which will allow, in 2024, the athletes to thrive in a spacious, aesthetic and high quality setting. An extension of 2,670 m² will be dedicated to : - a new weapons room which will include 20 fencing tracks (14 of which can accommodate international level competitions), traffic zones and clearance areas, as well as a retractable grandstand with a capacity of 100 people; - a space dedicated to the martial arts which will include three combat areas (8x8m), traffic zones and clearing areas, as well as a retractable stand with a capacity of 60 people. New equipment for high-level athletes will also be available, including a reception area, a physical preparation room, a medical room, a video room, a meeting room, as well as a relaxation and conviviality area (clubhouse).

Special features

Beyond its technical characteristics, the Bas-Coquarts sports complex enjoys an exceptional location. The complex is indeed located at 7.5 km from Orly airport, 9 km from Paris and less than 10 minutes on foot from the city center and its shops.
With its train station and the RD 920 (which connects the Paris orbital road and the A86), the town of Bourg-la-Reine is at the center of an extensive transportation network (road and rail) that allows you to reach Paris very quickly (10 minutes), as well as Orly airport (15 minutes) and Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport (1 hour).
Finally, the Bas-Coquarts complex is also surrounded by three hospitals and an establishment specialized in the monitoring of high-level athletes, all located at less than 5km away.
