Judo Handball

Description

The sports complex of “Belle Etoile” represents a total area of 4,767 m². It contains 2 gymnasiums including one built in April of 2020. One of the gymnasiums is made up of 4 changing rooms with showers and toilet blocks, an handball court, a Kung Fu room which is upstairs (reacheable with an elevator for people with reduced mobility), storage rooms and an office for food service. The other gymnasium contains an handball court, 4 changing rooms and toilet blocks, an infirmary and specific rooms for the following disciplines: fencing, table tennis, karate, a weights room and a gymnastics room. All these rooms have changing rooms and toilet blocks and are reacheable for people with reduced mobility. This gymnasium is equipped with a latest generation screen which enables the diffusion of videos. It also has an included sound system and a WI-FI access. A car park with 300 spaces is available for visitors and users. The geographic situation of the sports complex represents a signifiant advantage. The sports infrastructures are condensed on the heights of the city of Montivilliers, which is the second city of the Urban Community Havre Seine Metropolis. They are near Le Havre (only 6 kms away) which situates Montivilliers 2 hours and 30 minutes away from Paris. The project “Grand Paris” will be getting closer Paris to le Havre in the next couple of years. Special features

The complex is integrated to a sports platform with an aquatic complex, outdoor and indoor tennis courts, a synthetic field with an athletics track, high jump and long jump areas and a BMX track.
All these installations are accessible on foot from the complex, maximum 200 meters away. This proximity enables our 33 sports associations of 3,200 members to have sports facilities of high quality. We obtained the label “active and sports city” this year for the matter.
The complex is situated near a middle school, a high school and a CFA (apprenticeship training center) where the catering is possible. There are 2 hotels, several restaurants, a hospital and a shopping centre in the city of Montivilliers. The city is 6 km away from the nearest beach. Buses and trains connect Montivilliers to Le Havre, city that lead to several cities all over France (included Paris) thanks to the high-speed train (TGV).

Known for

The city of Montivilliers welcomed the national championship finals of table tennis in UNSS (scholar sports). This event reunited teams from highs schools from all over France. Since 2018, we are the regional centre of grade passage for judo, events which gather 300 competitors and 800 spectators in one weekend. The city council organized multiple receptions of international delegations. The city is twinned with Nordhorn, in Germany. An exchange of teenagers is instituated with this city for 30 years, and with an insistance on the sports dimension. Every year, the cultural service sets up concerts with world-known stars. The city of Montivilliers just received the price “coup de coeur, FDJ sports” (favorite of the ‘Française Des Jeux’, the ‘french of games’) of the CNVAS for our actions leaded towards feminin sports.
