Mâcon is ideally located in the heart of Europe. The capital of South Burgundy can be found 1 hour 35 minutes away from the Olympic sites of Paris 2024 by high-speed rail and 3 hours 45 minutes by car. The two international airports of Lyon Saint-Exupéry and Geneva allow you to reach this area in just 1 hour by car. Thanks to its activities, culture, historic heritage and its famous poet, Alphonse de Lamartine, Mâcon offers all the advantages of a city in an outstanding natural setting. More recently, Mâcon was the training town for the international footballer Antoine Griezmann. Mâcon is also intrinsically linked to its internationally-recognised Mâconnais-Beaujolais wines, which are perfect for social occasions. The Fernand-Velon sports complex is located in the city centre close to the train station and all amenities. As the facilities were installed in former wine cellars in 1998, it offers an exceptional training environment thanks to its stone walls and brightness. It is composed of a training hall, gym, weights room and private parking for all vehicles.
