Located in a gorgeous and charming green setting while being very close from France’s capital city (1 km away from Paris, 5 mins away from Porte d’Orélans), the Cercle Athlétique de Montrouge/Montrouge’s Athletic Club (CAM is the related acronym in French) is a sports association affiliated to the French Federation of Tennis and the French Federation of Hockey. The CAM ranks among the largest French tennis and hockey clubs. Very highly competitive teams compete in both sports at the CAM at the highest level. We also pride ourselves in a variety of levels and ages among our members. The core of the CAM’s mission lies also in the continuous training it provides for 700 young players at the Tennis and Hockey Junior Programs. Nestled within a 3 hectares park which is home to 147 trees, the CAM is a privately owned club built operating on municipal facilities. It includes a blue water-based purely synthetic hockey pitch compliant with international standards such as the ones which will be used for the Olympic Games in Colombes in 2024, as well as 17 tennis courts including 16 clay courts, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, a tennis pro-shop, a grass playground with two mini-tennis courts, a table tennis table, tennis changing rooms as well as brand new hockey changing rooms. Since 2018, the club has been awarded the prestigious “Roland Garros club” label by the French Federation of Tennis. Established in 1921, the CAM will be celebrating its 100th birthday this year! The CAM also stands out thanks to its excellent accessibility. Metro Line 4, crossing Paris city from north to south will have its new station “Barbara” located just 100m away from the club, right after the Moutrouge town hall stop. We are also only a five-minute walk from the Vache noire bus stop (bus lines 188,187,187) and the 323 line stops even right by the CAM. RER B (station Laplace) is just near. As the saying goes, all roads lead to the CAM!
At the Cercle Athlétique de Montrouge, you can hit the ball with a tennis racket or a hockey stick just as well as enjoying a drink or a nice meal on the terrace, in front of the beautiful Centre Court and immersed in a peaceful and beautiful setting. The La Terrasse du CAM restaurant welcomes all guests, regardless of their membership status.
Thanks to the Mojjo system, you can practice tennis while videorecording yourself. You can watch your replays as well as analyze your stats at home or with your coach. As a 100% connected club, the CAM’s intrepid life continues on social networks through live updates on events, with videos, pictures and live interviews.
The field hockey pitch underwent a complete renovation in 2018 and has been ranked as “Level 1 pitch” by the French Hockey Federation and by the International Hockey Federation (Field certified GLOBAL).
Did you ever wonder what a “mini-Roland-Garros” would look like? Just visit the CAM in June. Every single year for the past 40 years, the CAM has been hosting the “Roland Garros junior qualifications” and immerses itself in a very specific and emulating French open atmosphere for this occasion. Future stars fiercely compete for the spots in the French Open main draw. A large amount of current elite players worldwide have practiced on CAM’s courts at a junior level.
In 2018, as part of the European Games of Adaptive Sport (designed for athletes suffering from intellectual disabilities), the CAM had the honor to welcome the Adaptive Tennis tournament, which held the status of world championship for the tennis category.
The CAM has also been hosting major field hockey events (2008 Field Hockey Europe Championship, international France-USA men’s games in June 2018) On a regular basis, the CAM is also organizing training sessions for France men’s and women’s National Hockey Teams.
