Description

Inaugurated in 1967 and constantly renovated since then, the Sport Center Pierre Brossolette offers over 12,000 m² and several levels:

• a multi-sport Honor hall with bleachers (1310 people) adaptable according to needs
• a weapons room
• a basketball room
• a competition volleyball hall 1 court
• a 3-court Volleyball room
• a Gymnastics room (with bleachers 290 people)
• a weightlifting room
• a climbing room
• an annex room (gymnastics maintenance)
• a meeting room (Associative Life room)
• a swimming pool with a 50 m pool and a small pool.

The Sports Center Pierre Brossolette is located on the city of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, in the Val-de-Marne department. The town is located at 14kms away from Paris and is served by 4 RER stations (Saint-Maur Créteil, Le Parc Saint-Maur, Saint-Maur-Champigny, La Varenne). The city is labeled “Active and Sporting City” 2 laurels and “Land of games 2024”

The Sport Center Pierre Brossolette allows sports practice of a large number of diverse and varied activities such as fencing, basketball, volleyball, handball, badminton, gym, weightlifting, climbing, swimming or diving.

More than 40 000 persons attend this establishment every week, citizens, schools, specialize establishments, firemen and the sports associations of the town.

Known for

The center has welcomed different fencing delegations such as China, Canada, Spain with the help of the weapons master Daniel LEVAVASSEUR and his FENCING TEAM in the purpose of the preparation of several competitions. The city and the VGA, very invested about fencing, organize every year major international events and this since 1985. Now, the head events are the word cup of feminine foil, followed by the Open veterans circus (380 shooters).

On the occasion of this competition, a large part of the center benefits from a special reception configuration and thus demonstrates great adaptability.  For example, the Honor Hall has 5 strips which includes a podium, 20 lodges to welcome the officials and VIP, a giant screen and 4 Led screen broadcasting the results and advertisements during the all competition, and a special space for VIP only.

Now set as one of the biggest worldwide meeting of fencing, the Feminine Foil World cup of Saint-Maur is also covered by the media (television, web, press).
