Only 12 kms far from Paris and 10 kms from the Paris-Orly airport, the geographical location of Créteil and its public transport facilities offer to the delegations a fast access to the capital by the Metro or the regional express network as well as to the air network. The city of Créteil, labeled in 2018 « active and sporting city », has made sports a reference and an identity which radiate much beyond the Ile-de-France. Créteil shows its passion for sports by hosting more than 50 disciplines of excellence supported by an important network of sports facilities. The city keeps promoting sports for every one as well as for high performance. The other asset of Créteil is undoubtedly its leisure centre which is an area of relaxation and nature where the international delegation athletes will have the opportunity to recover between two training sessions. The Eyquem centre has three shooting stands hosting all grades of practitioners, whether target shooting amateurs for leisure or high performance. The 10 meter shooting stand has 36 ranges, the 25 meter one has 23 ranges and the 50 meter one has 14 ranges which lighting was recently renovated. Everything thus comes together to host the delegations who will find in the Eyquem centre the ideal conditions to prepare the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
During the past 4 years, important works have been carried out to make the centre accessible to people with reduced mobility (elevator, changing rooms-showers, entrance hall, access to sports equipment…)
In addition to the three sport shooting stands, the centre has several squash, badminton and tennis courts. A fitness room and two saunas, recently renewed, complement the sport structures.
The sport centre is located 10 minutes away from the Henri Mondor hospital which has 1,300 beds and covers most of the medical and surgical disciplines.
Concerning accommodation and catering, Créteil has many hotels, two of them 3 and 4 starred, located less than 4 kms far from the sport centre. The Handball House, headquarters of the French Handball Federation, also offers catering and accommodation facilities.
The Eyquem centre also regularly hosts competitions of all levels, organized by the Créteil club, nr 1 in Ile-de-France, following the legislation and the regulation established by the « Fédération Française de Tir » (French shooting federation).
The parasport French team has been hosted to practise 50 meter shotgun and 10 meter handgun.
For now more than 10 years, the Eyquem centre has hosted the French pole of women’s squash, including Camille Serme currently ranked fourth player worldwide.
After hosting several national championships, the local club and the French squash federation have organized the « Women’s Créteil international Open » since 2008.
