Description

Mâcon is ideally located in the heart of Europe. The capital of South Burgundy can be found 1 hour 35 minutes away from the Olympic sites of Paris 2024 by high-speed rail and 3 hours 45 minutes by car. The two international airports of Lyon Saint-Exupéry and Geneva allow you to reach this area in just 1 hour by car. Thanks to its activities, culture, historic heritage and its famous poet, Alphonse de Lamartine, Mâcon offers all the advantages of a city in an outstanding natural setting. More recently, Mâcon was the training town for the international footballer Antoine Griezmann. Mâcon is also intrinsically linked to its internationally-recognised Mâconnais-Beaujolais wines, which are perfect for social occasions. The Mâcon sports centre is located close to the Saône, 1 mile north of the city centre. The Saône is a natural basin which offers a 3-km stretch of water to practise rowing and uses the Albano system to mark 7 lanes. The centre has a top-quality restaurant which meets the requirements of the high-class athletes. The accommodation was renovated in 2017 into separate and shared rooms in order to respect the accessibility standards. A 4-star hotel is also located just 200 metres from the edge of the Saône.   Discover the site as if you were there : https://www.klapty.com/tour/FhZ0RztAPD More information about Mâcon sports centre: https://www.com-macon.fr/ More information about the city of Mâcon: https://www.macon.fr/

Special features

The centre has 11 meeting rooms with interactive digital equipment. These rooms can accommodate 20 to 60 people.

The building enables numerous disciplines to be practised (team sports, racket sports, martial arts, artistic expression sports). It has a weights room featuring a cardio-training area (8 rowing machines, 5 cycle ergometers, 2 cross-trainers, an upper body/torso hill climbing bike, 2 steppers, a treadmill) and a cryotherapy chamber which can accommodate 5 athletes at once.

A cycle track running alongside the training pool provides staff with an optimal view of the athletes from the water’s edge.

The configuration of the Saône facilitates long-distance training over a 9-mile distance.

Five motor boats will be available.

Staff will be available to help, and meet any requests that you may have during your stay.

The Macon Regatta Society (a local club) is made up of 700 members of the French Athletics Federation (FFA) and three professional coaches. It is a 1st division club and is classed as the 20th biggest club in France.
