Description

The “Cap'Découverte” Park is a 600 hectare domain located near Albi, a city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage. One hour from Toulouse, the fourth largest city in France. These grounds have been established for twenty years, in the heart of a once used open-cast mine, which has now become a natural leisure area. The reconversion of the site gave birth to a unique place, accessible to athletes with disabilities and offers a multitude of facilities and equipment, thus giving a multitude of options in function of your demands:

• - A vast natural area, traversed by tracks for : hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding.
• - A gym, giving the possibility of training for athletes.
• - Several sporting grounds.
• - A hotel, three restaurants and a campsite.
• - Rooms that can accommodate for conferences and seminars
• - A theater, dedicated to major events and culture
• - A leisure park accessible by chairlift with a lake and beach, and many more aquatic activities.
• The area is forbidden to motorized vehicles, thus preserving the natural spaces, the tranquility of the site and its visitors.

Cap’Découverte hosts regional and national cycling competitions every year, as well as major events :

• The “Tour de France” in 2003, with a time attack
• “La Route d’Occitanie”, start of stage 1 in 2018, arrival of stage 2 in 2020
• Beyond cycling, the site has hosted various other sport competitions :
• National cross country and triathlon competition
• Regional championships in mountain biking, water rescue, water polo, football
• Finally, national and regional teams choose  Cap’Découverte to organize preparation courses : athletics, gymnastics, equestrian endurance, team sports, triathlon
