The Savoie rowing facilities are located within one hour drive from three international airports, including Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport, Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport and Geneva airport and two hours from Paris by High Speed Train. The Savoie rowing facilities are located on the banks of Aiguebelette lake, a fabulous spot of the french Alpes. The Savoie rowing facilities are run by the Departmental Administration of Savoie and include a large bodybulding space, four locker rooms, an indoor rowing practice, a large meeting room for 80 persons, a spacious opened reception room, a large parking space, a hudge closed lawn, 3 pontoons over the lake and an Albano line of 2.000 meters. The Aiguebelette lake is the third largest natural lake in France and has an emerald colour. The lake has a peculiarity in France and that is to be all year around with no wind, what is a great advantage for high rowing professionals. The facilities are located on the banks of the Aiguebelette lake and the lake is listed on the UNESCO world heritage, and is the first french natural water reservoir. The Savoie rowing facilities can be easily reached through bike paths and is surrounded by national hiking trails, mountain bike and bikes paths, all paths referenced by the Savoie Mont Blanc paths, all what can be expected for training sessions. The facilities are under strict safety. For housing, there is a number of hotels, bed&breakfast, Airbnb and lodgings in the neighborhood. The worldwide well known Savoie rowing facilities have hosted in 1997 and then in 2015 the World Rowing Championship competitions. The extraordinary landscape and the facilities are very well acepted and recognized by the competitors. The International and the French teams benefit largely of the falicities for their taining all year around.
Land of important sport events, Savoie wellcomes for many decades and every year an average of 50 international competitions in various sports such as ski, cycling, biking, rowing, kayak canoing, handball etc… and has now a well established « welcome » savoir faire for the international sportmen.
