Description

Located in the heart of an urban park, personalised for Amiens Métropole, the aquatic centre and the Charassain Stadium attached to it form a popular local destination, a place for activities, where life is good. A place full of life and activities, this centre can welcome you at a standard worthy of the highest level. Amiens Aquatic Centre is located at 50, rue Alexandre Dumas in Amiens (France). Built to the south of Amiens, and inaugurated on June 28, 2019, the new aquatic centre has the special feature of having a 50m outdoor pool. It is open to the public and the club's top swimmers 365 days a year. Outdoors it has: a stainless steel pool of 50m x 25m, of constant 2m depth, with 10 swimming lanes. Beside the pool is an area for the swimming club, equipped with weights room and changing rooms. Indoors is a 25m pool, with wellness and fitness areas on the 1st floor. Located a few dozen meters from the aquatic complex, Charassain stadium is home to RCA (a 15-a-side rugby club founded in 1900). Its facilities include an approved grass pitch, two training grounds and a grandstand, changing rooms built in 2019, a clubhouse and a weights room.

The Aquapole and the Charassain stadium are two complementary facilities which offer a wide range of activities and optimal conditions for practice. Sports practice areas, as well as state-of-the-art relaxation areas will be made available to athletes.
Close to the department’s largest medical facilities, and to public transport, this centre is ideally located. With the facilities being the training base for local rugby and swimming clubs, exchanges with the host nations are facilitated.

Known for

Charassain stadium hosted the Mémoire de Rugby Events association. Since 2018, this association has presented the Auld Alliance trophy which rewards the winner of the match between Scotland and France during the Six Nations Tournament. Amiens hosted this sumptuous event, paying tribute to the French and Scottish rugby players who died during the First World War.
