Description

Overlooked by the sumptuous massif of the «Tête de Chien», the «amphi de la Mer» bears its name: located on the seafront, between the port of Cap d'Ail and the beach Marquet, famous for their restaurants and nautical activities, it offers a direct view of the large blue and the azure sun. You only have to walk a few meters to reach the Principality of Monaco, its neighbour. Its location and its configuration in U with bleachers make this space, both urban, festive and adapted to people with disabilities, a privileged place to host extracurricular activities, musical and artistic shows, sports events. Since 2021, it has been classified as an official “3x3 basketball court”.

The preparation center is ideally located in the sun and by the sea !

But, in case of rain, it also has an indoor equipment: the Saint-Antoine area, equipped with a covered multisport plateau of 2000 m2, located 100 meters from the main site.

Although it offers the instantaneous possibility of practicing swimming in the sea, the centre is complemented by numerous sports facilities accessible within a radius of only 300 meters: multisport room with a climbing wall, multipurpose room, high-end fitness room (100 meters away), beach volleyball, petanque and tennis courts, table tennis, water activities, etc. and football stadium «Didier Deschamps», whose name took place in the presence of the double World Champion in 2018 !

On the practical side, the centre borders the port of Cap d’Ail and the Riviera Marriott Hotel (4-star hotel), as well as numerous restaurants. The Principality of Monaco and its shopping centre of Fontvieille are only a few minutes walk away.

Known for

Since 2018, Cap d’Ail has participated in the democratization of 3×3 basketball by hosting tournament and Open Plus of the French Basketball Federation qualifier for the Open France each season.

The “amphitheatre de la Mer” is also a stage site of the tour of the «Caravan of Sport», organized by Departmental Olympic and Sportive Comity, dedicated to promoting sport among young people.

Due to its amphitheatre structure, the site also hosts live shows every summer, with, for almost 20 years, the concerts and shows of the city as well as the «Soirées Estivales» of the department of Alpes-Maritimes.
