Description

The sports complex “Maurice Daugé” is a natural space of 22 hectares combining quality and modernity Having 44 covered and outdoor facilities, scores of sports disciplines can be practiced. It is located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in the city of Venelles. This region is located in the south East of France. Venelles is a town in the heart of Provence, between the Durance and the Emblematic Sainte-Victoire mountain. It is quite close to Aix-en-Provence, Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade, Meyrrargues and Saint-Marc Jaumegarde. It is possible to welcome any kind of sports event in this complex thanks to The design of the Halle Nelson Mandela, its location and its equipments.
It hosts the Volleyball National League 1st division local team. This pro women’s team has regularly reached the French Championship top 6 for several years and has been qualified 2 times for the European Cup.
The Halle also hosts international basketball and Judo meetings, boxing galas and many others major sports events.

The aquatic centre houses the Club du Pays d’Aix Natation, a historic club competing in both water polo and artistic swimming. The professional waterpolo team is ranked in the top four of the French League and has qualified for several years to various European Cups.

As for artistic swimming, the Pays d’Aix Natation is the first recognized French club and manages, in collaboration with the French Swimming Federation, the pole France espoir. The French teams of this discipline regularly carry out training seminar.
